This Privacy Policy explains what information AlleeUp collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using AlleeUp you consent to this policy.
Account information: email, name, username, date of birth, sex, bio, training interests, and photos you upload (profile and chat photos). Location: your precise location while you use the app, to find gyms near you, plus gyms you save. Payments: handled by Stripe — we store transaction records (amounts, fees, status) but never your card number. Buddies additionally provide identity and banking information directly to Stripe for payouts. Content: messages (including photos), session details, reviews, reports, and feedback. Device: push notification token, device model, OS version, locale, and app version.
To operate the marketplace (matching, sessions, chat, payments and payouts, reviews), to send notifications you'd expect (session requests, messages, payouts), to keep the community safe (moderation of reports, blocking), and to improve the app (feedback, diagnostics). We do not sell your personal information and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Other users see your profile as shown in the app (name, age, photos, bio, interests, gyms, reviews; Buddies also show rates and availability). Service providers process data for us: Stripe (payments, identity verification for Buddies), Supabase (hosting and database), Google (gym search via Google Places), and Expo (push notifications). We may disclose information when required by law or to protect users.
You can delete your account in Profile → Delete account. Deletion removes your profile, photos, saved gyms, and buddy listing, and anonymizes your identity. Messages you sent remain visible to the people you chatted with, attributed to “Deleted user”. Transaction records are retained as required for financial and legal compliance. Stripe retains data per its own policy.
You may access and correct your information in the app, and request a copy or deletion of your data by contacting us. We respond to requests consistent with applicable Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA).
Data is encrypted in transit, access is restricted with row-level security, and payments are handled by Stripe (PCI-DSS compliant). No system is perfectly secure; report concerns to the contact below.
AlleeUp is for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18; such accounts will be removed.
We may update this policy; material changes will be communicated in the app.
